John Carroll University students named to 2017 Dean's List.

John Carroll University is pleased to announce the following students who graduated during the May 21, 2017 commencement ceremony.

Coastal Carolina University has announced that 745 students made the President's honor list for high academic achievement for the 2017 Spring Semester. To qualify for the President's List for high academic achievement, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average and must be enrolled full time.

Five diverse cities, 35 compassionate Baldwin Wallace University students and one short spring break week added up to a world of difference. The BW Alternative Break service program gives students the opportunity to spend their breaks helping others. The spring 2017 student volunteers traveled to Clarkston, Ga., New Orleans, New York, Washington and Wheeling, W.Va. Each experience is led by a BW student with support from a University faculty or staff adviser.

Students at the University of Findlay recently performed in a spring piano recital.

In the 2016-17 academic year, 235 John Carroll University student athletes achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.

Ovation Festival 2017, BW's annual celebration of student achievement, spotlighted student success in research and scholarship, the arts, experiential learning and leadership, and athletics. The signature event of the 10-day festival was the Day of Excellence, which featured student work from every school of the University through posters, displays, live presentations and performances. The day concluded with the Honors Awards Ceremony that recognized students with scholarships and awards.

The following students will present scholarly research during the University of Mount Union's tenth annual Student Celebration Honoring Our Latest Academic Research (SCHOLAR) Day on Tuesday, April 25 on Mount Union's campus.

The following students achieved membership in the BW Delta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society in the spring 2017 semester. Society membership is extended to students who have completed at least 12 credit hours of history courses; have at least a 3.1 GPA in history courses; and have at least a 3.0 GPA in all non-history courses.

Student choreographers and dancers created and performed a collaborative new music and dance project inspired by assistant professor of biology Dr. Karen Munroe's research on the social and mating behaviors of squirrels.

The following University of Mount Union students were elected to executive positions in their fraternities and sororities for the 2017-2018 year.

Kennesaw State University recently named students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2016 semester. The Kennesaw State students were honored by President Samuel S. Olens for earning top marks.

Clemson has announced the Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2016 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

A group of John Carroll University students recently spent their Winter Break in Jamaica, Nicaragua, and in places near U.S./Mexico border addessing issues of social justice.

A total of 11,758 students enrolled during the 2016 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
